For information: Fadela Chaib, chaibf@who.int and mediainquiries@who.int Monday 9 November 2020 Race to Zero Climate & Health Dialogue – for a healthy, resilient, and zero-carbon recovery WHO will host the first of the "Race to Zero" 24-hour virtual dialogues that will mobilize stronger action at next year's UN climate conference in Glasgow. The dialogues aim to refocus global climate efforts and outline specific steps towards a healthy recovery from COVID-19. Opening session starts at 0900 GMT. More information here. Thursday 12 November 2020 World Pneumonia Day Pneumonia remains the largest infectious killer of children under five, causing around 800,000 deaths a year. This year World Pneumonia Day will be held during a global pandemic that is dramatically increasing pneumonia deaths from COVID-19 and other causes. WHO and partners are calling on governments and other stakeholders to ensure that efforts to control the pandemic contribute to reducing ‘all-cause’ pneumonia deaths among both children and adults for the long term.
