Q:
How Do I Hard-Boil Eggs in the Instant Pot?
On Sundays, when meal prepping for the week, I top my lunch salads with hard-boiled eggs cooked in the Instant Pot. The eggs are ready before I'm even finished washing the produce! I like to use what's known as
the "5-5-5 method"
when hard-boiling my eggs. I simply allow five minutes to pressure-cook, five minutes to release the pressure and then five minutes to cool.
First, pour 1 cup water into the Instant Pot. Place a steamer basket or trivet on top of water. Carefully place up to 12 eggs on top of trivet or basket. Next, secure the lid and set the pressure release valve to sealing.
Select manual setting; set the cooking time to 5 minutes at high pressure. While cooking, prepare an ice bath. When cooking is complete, let the pressure release naturally for 5 minutes. Then, move the pressure release valve to venting in order to release all remaining steam. Open the pot and transfer the eggs to the ice bath to cool for 5 minutes. Peel when ready to eat or use.
