Over the past year, the Coronavirus created financial problems for many people. Maybe you're one of them. As you work to regain your financial footing, scammers will continue to try to steer you off course. Here are a few ways to spot, stop, and report payment scams.


Updated Coronavirus (COVID-19) consumer complaint data

Today, the FTC published its latest edition of Coronavirus (COVID-19) Consumer Complaint Data on its FTC COVID-19 and Stimulus Reports dashboard. Select a state from the map on the dashboard to view data by state.

As of April 6, 2021:

  • 426,264 Overall Reports
  • $397.91M Total Fraud Loss
  • $337 Median Fraud Loss
