The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
North Central Anderson County in upstate South Carolina...

* Until 915 AM EDT.

* At 616 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen in the warning area in under two hours. The expected
rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Affected
streams include but are not limited to Six and Twenty
Creek, Jones Creek, and the Rocky River. Flooding of
poor drainage areas is also likely in Powdersville and
vicinity.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Powdersville, Piedmont and Northlake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
