"Ten minutes." He scratched his scalp through disheveled, gray-brown curls that defied gravity. Then he disappeared behind the conference-room door. He looked more like one of my geeky chemistry professors than the top manager of sales for a four-star hotel. At nineteen, I was employed for the summer, writing contracts for companies that spent mega-money booking week-long meetings complete with gourmet cuisine.
