~Arthur Conan Doyle, Sr. Rusty loved intrigue. A mild-mannered cat by day, at night he turned into the Midnight Marauder. Often, Bill and I would lie in bed squabbling over whether we should let the dang cat out to roam the dark Montana prairie or put up with another sleepless night. I resisted turning him out and always won, though, since a coyote had taken a previous cat. Neither of us wanted that to happen again. So, instead, we lay in the dark each night and wondered if Rusty would wreak havoc. Some nights were quiet. Some definitely were not. And always in the morning, if I had forgotten to put the butter in the cupboard, there were marks from a rough, little tongue and once even a paw print. (Keep reading)
