However, fast-forward to the second millennium, and those traits no longer served the person I wanted to be. Nevertheless, no matter how much I longed to be a carefree, lighthearted, happy-go-lucky individual, I knew deep down that altering that fight-or-flight response would be no easy task. I gave a lot of thought to how to change this behavior. Knowing how deeply ingrained my thought process was wired, I knew the task would be monumental.
