I asked in a tone as sarcastic as they come. "She's not coming into my house." My mother and mother-in-law looked at each other and said, "That dog better not hurt my granddaughter." My husband was completely outnumbered but didn't fight us on it. He was happy to have the dog, and from what he described, our cold garage was an upgrade from where she came from. Apparently, he knew someone who had an uncle who had this female Pit Bull. She wasn't spayed, hence the bleeding she was doing when he brought her home, and she had been neglected, tied to a tree and underfed. Her owners had to get rid of her because they were moving to a place that wouldn't allow bully breeds, so my husband took her, sure that she would be euthanized if they surrendered her to a shelter.
