|  Luna Belle From Chicken Soup for the Soul: Lessons Learned from My Dog By Aviva Jacobs You can be in the storm, but don't let the storm get in you. ~Joel Osteen My husband and I bought a farm during the COVID-19 shutdown. We both love dogs, so less than three months after moving in we started looking for the perfect dog to add to our family. We wanted an adult dog that was trained. We preferred medium size, but we were not too fussy on the breed. Luna Belle was the third dog we met, and we knew she was perfect for our home. We received Luna from a rescue that had saved her from a kill shelter somewhere in the southeastern U.S. She appears to be a hound mix. She was estimated to be about five years old, and she is impeccably trained. She does not push partially open doors, and she gently takes treats from the hand of our two-year-old grandson. She naps during her baths at the groomers and has no objection to having her paws touched for a nail trim. She will lie down in our chicken coop and watch "her" flock. She has never lunged at the birds, but she does chase raccoons and stray cats off our land. (Keep reading)  | |
