Self-care is the fuel that allows your light to shine brightly. ~Author Unknown I go away by myself every year. This tradition started when I was thirty-seven. The goal is to create space for silence and introspection. In the silence, I gain clarity and sometimes convictions regarding areas of my life that need course corrections. My husband and I have three wonderful daughters. Females speak 20,000 words a day on average. In my house, only counting the females, 80,000 words are spoken every day. Most of the words occur after school between 3 and 9 p.m. Children create lots of joyful sounds — talking, singing, laughter, and playing. Then there is the screaming, yelling, and squealing — less soothing sounds. (Keep reading)  |
