Dear Travel Fan,

With Labor Day in our wake, we're moving into "shoulder season," that time of year when things are little quieter, prices may be a little lower and the weather in many traditional summer destinations remains fine.

With that in mind, this week we've got suggestions for perfect shoulder season getaways:

We also catch you up on one of the latest trends in wellness travel, programs tailored specifically for women going through menopause, with a list of upcoming retreats around the world. And our colleagues on the New York desk took a look at the new rules for home sharing hosts that just went into effect and how they might affect users of Airbnb and other platforms.

And our Travel 101 series tackles rewards credit cards and how to strategize getting the most for your spending.

We've been publishing our favorite tips for a couple of months now and we'll keep that series going, but we'd also love to hear what your favorite travel hacks are. How do you solve problems or keep them from happening in the first place? What secrets have you learned along the way that can make life easier on the road? Share them with us here and then we'll compile the best and offer your great advice to your fellow travelers.

Wishing you safe and happy travels,

Amy Virshup
