Eklund No animal I know can consistently be more of a friend and companion than a dog. ~Stanley Leinwoll In the early 1940s my father, Alvin Eklund, lived in the Twin Butte district of Southern Alberta. He was a rancher, and a farmer. When it came to animals, he was known as one of the kindest men around. In summer he and his friend Owen Leavitt moved their sheep into the mountains. In winter, my dad brought his herd down into the farming districts of Hill Spring and Glenwood where he rented grain fields to run his sheep.
