I was busy all week preparing the menu, shopping, cleaning, and cooking. There would only be four of us at this dinner but you'd have thought that I was preparing for royalty. The reason? Our very good friends were coming to dinner and we wanted everything to be perfect. What better way to show people you love them than with the food on your table? We do love our friends very much, but they have one habit that drives us crazy. They think they are coffee connoisseurs, and they don't hesitate to inform you of that fact. Over and over and over again. They talk about this new bean and that new growing area, coffee cups versus mugs, black versus cream and sugar, various brands of coffee makers, etc., etc., etc. You get the idea. And we tolerate it. But just because you tolerate your friends' behavior doesn't mean you can't try to fool them. My husband Frank and I were planning to pull off the scam of the century. (Keep reading) |
