As an experienced but amateur choir singer, Junior didn't scare me. I wasn't intimidated by sight-singing from the hymnal or doing the vocal exercises. There is always anxiety when singing without people around me, but I accepted it as a necessary part of the audition. I had to find a new choir because of a move. My criteria included performing challenging music, hence the audition, but not so demanding that my lack of training would hamper me. As I moved through this process, the fit felt right.
