My marriage ended after seventeen years, I got laid off, a dear friend and mentor died, and I had an adolescent child who was facing circumstances that were beyond my ability to fix. My physical and emotional health suffered as I attempted to keep my mind straight in the midst of overwhelming pain and uncertainty.
