When you feel good about yourself, you treat others better. ~Solange Knowles I was too tired to make myself dinner. I'd just eat the kids' leftover cereal off the highchair tray. I bet I'd lose some weight doing this anyway. That's how I used to think. I actually thought this was a brilliant plan and called it the "Cereal for Dinner Diet." Back then, I knew nothing about nutrition, and this was one of my misguided attempts at dieting after I had put on some postpartum weight. Of course, the Cereal for Dinner Diet failed, as did all my other attempts. I knew nothing about how to lose weight in a healthy way. I'd spent years caring for my three children, completely ignoring any self-care. Educating myself about nutrition seemed too lofty a goal when more pressing matters were at hand, such as three toddlers sticking beans in each other's ears and noses. (Keep reading) |
