Ask Sarah Q: What Should I Do with Leftover Hamburger Buns? It seems like every summer barbecue ends with a bag of buns not quite finished. If that happens to you this Labor Day, don't throw them out at the end of the night. Instead, use 'em up creatively. My favorite way to use up extra buns is to make breadcrumbs. They're so easy to make, and it's one less thing to put on your grocery list. Croutons are just as easy, too. If I want to go a little bigger, I'll make French toast. I love that I can do this whether I have one extra bun or five.
