Tackle the February Challenge Snickerdoodle Cake Of all the desserts we publish, new layer cakes excite me the most. Whether they're family recipes sent to us by our community, or future classics developed in our test kitchen, I love seeing the new flavor combinations people come up with—and the gorgeous photos. Our recipe tester Maggie Knoebel developed this Snickerdoodle Cake, inspired by the beloved cookie. Ask Bakeable How Do I Cut a Round Cake Evenly? For even slices, try this: Before you cut, take a piece of dental floss and mark a line down the middle of the cake. Rotate 90º and mark the midway line again. Now you've got an X marking the center of the cake—each slice should end at this spot.
