Raise your hand if you love angel food cake. You can't see me, but I have both hands raised. Compared to tall, frosted layer cakes, angel food cake looks...simple. But then you take one bite of that light, airy texture and almond-kissed flavor, and you're hooked. I am, anyway. For this month's challenge, we traded our one-trick-pony tube pan for two common loaf pans to make a more accessible angel food cake. You'll still flip it over to let it cool upside down like normal. I hope you give this recipe a try! Got a baking question you'd like answered in this newsletter? Email me at bakeable@tasteofhome.com. —Emily, Bakeable editor
Angel food cake is a blank canvas. Dress it up with whipped cream and strawberries, lemon curd, chocolate ganache or one of these other delightful toppings.
