Last week, we talked about how much I love this time of year. Sure, it’s back-to-school time. But in my house, it’s also back to sports—between the three of us, we somehow have four leagues going at once, and that’s before we even get to our favorite pro teams (go, Kraken!). Sports season hands us so many reasons to gather.

The Cliffe Clan is about to start our first-ever fantasy football league (and our family chat is exploding with trash talk). I’ll bring these adorable cake pops to our draft party, because nothing softens the blow of a bad pick like they do.

Honestly, you don’t need to be a huge fan to have a sports get-together. Here are three ways to get in on the fun:

Have a fantasy draft potluck starring some of these football foods. Bonus points for including cheeky options like turnovers.
The U.S. Open starts August 23. Tennis, tiny sandwiches and the official signature cocktail make for a lovely excuse to gather any night of the week.
Seriously not a sports fan? Invite friends over to cheer on Ted Lasso’s new team, the Lady Greyhounds, and share a batch of his famous biscuits. (New episodes drop Wednesdays on Apple TV.)
