Click here Friday, 2 October 2026 MEDIA ADVISORY  Embargoed virtual press briefing on the launch of the child and adolescent obesity guidelines When: Tuesday, 6 October 2026, 15:00 CEST Subject: The World Health Organization (WHO) will release new guidelines on the management of obesity in children and adolescents, setting out how health systems and health workers can deliver timely, evidence-based and people-centred care.  Obesity is a chronic, relapsing disease. Its consequences can begin early, affecting physical and mental health, quality of life, social well-being and education. Preventing and managing obesity early in life is essential to protect the health of children and adolescents. An embargoed news release will be shared with journalists on the day.
