The report argues that it is not justifiable ethically or scientifically for less-resourced countries to gain access to such technologies long after rich countries do. Professor Harold Varmus, the Chair of WHO Science Council, a Nobel Laureate and former Director of the U.S. National Institutes of Health will present the report at the regular weekly WHO press briefing on Tuesday 12 July at 15h.
