In the age of smartphones and social media
Dear Reader, What is teenage bullying like today? We invited students to share their experiences with navigating today's social world. Are teenagers kinder to one another these days? Or has bullying just become more subtle? Here is some of what they told us: - Bullying happens mainly online.
- Sometimes in very subtle ways.
- It is often anonymous.
- And difficult to detect and punish.
- It can be really confusing for teenagers.
- And there's no break from it.
- It still happens at school, too.
- Students want it to end.

Please take a few moments to read what teenagers had to say about today's bullying; we think you'll find their comments eye-opening (and for students, validating). Sincerely, The Learning Network P.S. Each week we round up some of our favorite student comments on our writing prompts. You can find them in our Current Events Conversation column. | | RESOURCES FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS | | | | | | | | |
